When I posted the Publix gift card giveaway two weeks ago, I didn't put many details up about Rafflecopter. I found the new giveaway forms to be very easy to use- and many of you agreed!

PUR Flavor Pitcher Review & Giveaway - Ends Nov 27

I don't know about you, but for work I'm sitting at a computer all day. I used to have to the problem of forgetting to drink water. By the end of the day I'd have a headache and dry mouth. I was ecstatic when I won a PUR Flavor Pitcher in a blog giveaway. I now keep the pitcher filled with water on my desk so I can drink up.

The pitcher holds 7 glasses of water. Fill it up to filter your tap water, removing 98% of lead and impurities. When pouring, you have the option of running the water through a flavor filter. My favorite flavor is raspberry, but you can chose from these:

Lemon
Strawberry
Peach
Raspberry

What's great is that the flavors are NOT like soda-- no calories, no carbs, no sugar. Your water doesn't become thick juice, it becomes light water that you can drink a lot of. This is a great way to get everyone in your house drinking more water!

Is it any surprise this product was voted the 2009 Product Of The Year by the Consumer Survey Of Product Innovation? It's a SMART product!

PUR's website says that their filters work twice as well as Brita water filters because it is a two-system filtration process. That is good news!

Directions

Fit Factor Kids recently sent me their workout video... not for me, for kids! These jumpy workouts were designed for elementary school aged kids (4 – 12) and they pack a lot of fun in.

What I really like about Fit Factor Kids is their focus on health-- not weight loss. The two main characters, Lizzy and Dean, are great athletes and the video is suitable for both girls and boys.
Lizzy is a gymnast and Dean does Karate. They focus on athletics and their studies, not weight loss, which I was glad about. The last message that I want to send to my kids is that they need to exercise as a means to start a lifelong obsession worrying about their weight. That's not what happens in these videos.There are six routines on the DVD designed to "improve children’s fitness. Children use their imaginations and learn how to take care of their bodies." Kids learn a range of activities including simple stretching, strengthening and aerobics. The music is bouncy and energetic-- it will probably get you dancing too! See a short preview:

I'm already known to pull out a yoga mat and do stretches with my kids. We frequently go to the park and run around. The DVDs are great because they encourage kids to get stronger through the routines, which means they will watch the DVD more than once. From the website:

When I saw the Modify Dress by ModifyClothing.com, I knew I had to have it! Not only is this dress a time and money saver, as soon as I put it on I realized that it's quality too!

The idea behind the Modify Dress is that any woman can have a LBD (Little Black Dress) but that can get old. Not so with this dress because you can pick "wraps" that totally change the look.

The basic black dress comes in regular sizes and petite sizes. The material is quite soft-- that surprised me. Fabric is 94% Rayon and 6% Spandex. You can see below that the front of the dress is cinched. It's very slimming.
There many choices of wraps. As you can see below, wraps come individually packaged and clearly labeled. Also included in your order will be a helpful instructions (in color) that shows you how to tie the wraps in different ways. The types of wraps are Belt Halter, Criss Cross Loop, Short Wrap, and Long Wrap.
Warning: Provides hours of fun! :) I found the halter styles the easiest-- they take all of about 3 seconds. Getting the shoulder wrap style to look right was some work but well worth it. There are many more styles to be discovered... by you!

MAJOR PLUSES: I am small busted (not a major plus) but the dress has light padding and shaping, so I didn't need to wear a bra. The Modify Dress also has elastic at the top so it isn't slipping down all day. It stays put! The material seems more wrinkle-resistant than normal clothing, probably because of the spandex, which is fabulous!

PAY ATTENTION: The dress is see-through in the skirt in bright light. A slip is necessary. Also, keep in mind this beauty is not machine washable. Be ready to hand wash and dry it.

Why I Enter Giveaways & Sweepstakes

Why Enter?

I find this question both difficult and simple to explain… The pros of entering a sweepstakes include its simplicity, low (NO) cost, and the fun of the prizes. Some prizes are beauties I could never afford, i.e. Glamour Magazine’s 10-day Turk Islands vacation (which I did not win). Some prizes are one-of-a-kind or unavailable to the greater public, such as a meet-and-greet with a celebrity or a personal shopping experience. There is every kind of prize imaginable, from furniture to cash to beauty products to technology to food.

It all started back was I was in high school. I won a salon haircare package from Seventeen Magazine that I could never afford. This was one of the few sweepstakes I entered as I devotedly read and loved teen magazines. Now, later in my, I believe it’s possible to win great stuff and it’s pretty easy too. I spend a few hours each day online entering sweepstakes. It’s paid off! (See my winnings!)

My husband has called the thrill of sweeping the same as the thrill of gambling. He might be right. Each sweepstakes entry is a little thrill or high, giving me hope in great odds. :) Besides hoping for things I can’t afford, I have actually made friends and I’ve had a good time. Like I’ve mentioned, I have met a community of others interested in this same hobby. We chat about giveaways, sweeps, news, politics, and our families. The popularity of online winning communities has exploded recently.

One important thing to remember: I don’t enter expecting to win each and every contest I enter. I realize there are many sweeps and giveaways I’ll never get the thrilling email or mysterious envelope from. And I’m fine with that. It’s the hope, fun, and friends that keep me sweeping. A Bit About Me

I’m your average white-collar professional living in beautiful San Francisco. While I was temporarily unemployed I decided to start entering sweepstakes online. I had won one once in high school and thought I could pass some time trying now. In three months I won over $3000 in prizes and loved every minute of it.

I decided to blog about my experiences. I know there are many sweepstakes blogs out there that promote the contests, but I want to highlight other aspects of sweepstakes (i.e. odds, community, greed, prizes, experiences, etc.). I then began to tweet about giveaway on Twitter.com, and guess what? Lots of people out there share my hobby! :)

I enjoyed blogging and tweeting so much that I decided to change industries. I am now working for a nonprofit doing Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, Change.org, Social Vibe, etc.), but I'll never quit trying to win. This is a great hobby that may or may not pay off. I’m just going to have fun!

I Tried Swagbucks and...

Swagbucks is an online search site that lets members promote their banners or using their search engine in exchange for bucks. These bucks can then be used to enter sweepstakes for things like an iPhone, Xbox360, vacations, video games, musical instruments, music and movie prints, T-shirts, trading cards. Best of all, earn enough points and earn gift cards to places like Starbucks, Subway, iTunes, Barnes & Noble, Disney, Target, Southwest Airlines, Fandango, ESPN, Macy’s, Sephora, Victoria’s Secret, and Petco!

It's so smart because I save my points for gift cards for things I'm actually going to buy. It saves me a little bit of money that way.

The Swagbucks banner sits passively on your website or blog while earning you entries for great prizes! You can also recruit your friends and if they sign up, you'll get more entries! The banner or link can be added to any website, blog, or social network. Everyday you can use their search feature in which there are instant win prizes of Swagbucks. I make an average of 1-5 by searching each day.

Seems pretty easy and fun. There are a lot of prizes and it’s seemingly low maintenance.
